Bishop Monkton Village Hall has launched a major consultation with villagers to get views on how to shape its future plans. The Village Hall and Playing Fields Committee wants to get the community involved in deciding how the facilities should be developed in the coming years.

The VH has significant reserves in the bank, which are being boosted by the current BBC booking and may be further increased with money from developers building houses in the village.

New VH Chair, Phil Goodier, told us:- "The Village Hall and Playing Fields are an important part of Village life. The committee is looking to plan how we make things even better and relevant over the next few years. We are conscious that whilst many clubs and societies are thriving, some have folded. This shows how important it is to look at what villagers want from time to time and change the plan if needed.

"We are fortunate to have a healthy bank balance and potentially access to the “commuted sums” that developers pay to support community life. But it’s essential we spend this money – and the recent BBC windfall – well and in a way which supports use of the facilities by everyone for years to come."

You can access the survey here.

The survey will only take between five and ten minutes to complete. The survey will be live for the next two weeks and the results will be shared at the next Parish Meeting in May and also here on 'Bishop Monkton Today'.
