UPDATED - ROAD REOPENED TODAY (TUESDAY)

The developer of the new homes on the former Lamb and Flag site in the middle of the village has confirmed to us that the water supply was finally connected to the development yesterday - at the seventh attempt.

Ashfield Homes had complained to the water industry regulator OFWAT about Yorkshire Water's failure to complete the work over the past three months since the new homes were finished.

However, as of late this morning (Tuesday), Boroughbridge Road, which had been closed since yesterday morning, remained shut with a large hole still needing to be filled. 'Bishop Monkton Today' asked YW to confirm when this will happen and they have told us:-

"Backfill and road reinstatement is scheduled for mid-morning tomorrow (Wednesday), the road will be reopened after that."
