Bishop Monkton School has been ranked in the top twenty in terms of performance out of more than 400 primary schools across North Yorkshire.

Government performance tables just published place the village school 13th out of 455 primaries in the county. In the 2023/24 school year, 88% of its pupils in Year Six met the expected standards in reading, writing and maths - compared to averages of 58% locally and 61% nationally.

Sally Cowling, the Headteacher of the School said:- "I am extremely proud of our children and the hard work they have put in. It's also a fantastic reflection on the commitment and quality of our staff in all year groups."
