The audience were bewitched by the energy and efforts of the Service Children's Choir last night in St John's Church. We were treated to many old favourites, sung with gusto and several times were encouraged to join in. There was a memorable time when we sang a short round wishing everyone present a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year - we just about managed it - but it was great fun trying!

There was a lovely atmosphere in the church as all then enjoyed a chat with the choir and their very talented new team member, musician Ben Noble, whilst having a festive tipple and mince pies.

Thank you to Sue Short for the organisation of the evening and to Angie, Beki and Liz who are the choir directors and music specialist. You can find out more about the choir and their work and ethos here

The children sang in front of the King at this year's Festival of Remembrance in the Albert Hall and also in Ripon Cathedral during their Remembrance service for military children.

A truly fun evening and a lovely start to Christmas
