Yorkshire Water have confirmed to us that planned roadworks to connect the new Lamb and Flag development to the water supply, scheduled for today, tomorrow and Wednesday, have been postponed because of the weather. A spokeswoman told us:- "This work has been postponed for the time being due to weather related Health and Safety concerns."

The work would have involved the closure of Boroughbridge Road outside the Lamb with the only diversionary routes either being via the ford or much longer routes via Staveley or Ripon.
