There's a new feature now available on 'Bishop Monkton Today' - an archive of our news stories going back earlier in the year.

And it's been quite a year in the village with several major news stories including:-

- Avant Homes controversial plans resubmitted in a new scheme for sixty homes

- The Church Farm housing development approved on appeal

- More flooding incidents in the village and continuing concern about the inadequacies of the sewerage system

- A lively year at the Parish Council with a critical auditor's report, resignations, staffing issues but also a new Chair and the promise of a 'reset'

But there have been lots of other stories which demonstrate why Bishop Monkton is such an interesting place to live -

- Exciting new plans for the Chapel which could lead to a cafe and a shop in the village

- A lucrative booking for the Village Hall with the BBC coming to film a children's drama next Spring

- A successful Hog Roast on a beautifully sunny day in May

- The School and Local History Group launching a major project to capture the history of the school

- Beckbusters Races breaking new records

- A poignant poppy field by the beck which boosted donations on Remembrance Day

- The start of monthly Men's Breakfasts

- The continuing growth of pickleball both indoors and outdoors in the village

If you want to look at the most recent stories, going back roughly a month, you will find those in the regular stack of news stories here.

But if you want to look back at stories from before that, going back to May when we first started putting stories on this site, you can access the news archive here.

For stories from before that, the previous verson of 'Bishop Monkton Today' is still viewable here.
