UPDATED

YW have begun work today and Boroughbridge Road is closed by the Lamb.

The road outside the Lamb and Flag development is expected to be closed from Monday to Wednesday this week (17th to 19th Feb) as Yorkshire Water makes its latest attempt to connect the new homes built there to the water supply.

The closure will mean that the only way to and from Roecliffe will either be by using Main Street and going through the ford near the Mechanics' or by taking a much longer diversion via Ripon or via Staveley.

This reminder comes with the usual caveat that it might not happen! This will be the seventh time that YW have tried to complete this work. On four previous occasions they failed to turn up on scheduled closure dates. On the other two occasions they were on site but the work was unable to be completed.

The developer of the site, Ashfield Homes. complained to the water industry regulator, OFWAT, about the delays in connecting the development. Last week OFWAT said that they had urged YW to complete the work as soon as possible.
