The Parish Council is taking over the job of distributing welcome packs to newcomers to the village following Bob Upton's retirement from the role after many years .

Recently co-opted member of the PC, Rupert Scales will be looking after the welcome packs from now on. Rupert paid tribute to Bob's dedication to the task of making people feel welcome when they move into BM;-

"Bob did a wonderful job for a number of years looking after the Welcome to Bishop Monkton pack and we are very grateful to him for doing that."

Rupert added:- "If anyone who has a new neighbour can please reach out to me on [email protected] to obtain a welcome pack that they can then use to introduce themselves with. I will also be ensuring the contact details are up to date in the welcome pack as I know there have been quite a few changes in recent times in the various groups within the village."
