The Chair of the Parish Council, Dean Culshaw, has called on villagers to step forward and offer their services to volunteer working on 'Bishop Monkton Today'. The village website is losing its Editor and another team member who need to step down for personal reasons. Unless new volunteers step forward, the website is likely to close by the end of May.

Dean told us:- "I just wanted to add my support to the campaign for volunteers to get involved in the Bishop Monkton Today website. The site is a great resource for village news and village group activity. BMT also plays an important role in village community engagement. There is a tendency for us all to default into our own bubbles of news and interests but being rooted in the community where we live is important on many levels and BMT offers us that opportunity to take a wider interest in where we live and it's survival is really important for the village.

I'm sure the BMT Team will be happy for any type of assistance and welcome contributions from anyone, young or old, a commitment to one item a year from 10 people or group would be fantastic. There are some very talented and experienced people already involved and this would be a great opportunity for younger members of our community who might have an interest in journalism or digital publishing to have a go and hone skills and talents that are lying dormant. Come on Bishop Monkton, BMT needs you! Dean Culshaw, Chairman BM PC
