Boroughbridge Road will NOT be closed tomorrow.

A spokesperson from Yorkshire Water confirmed just before 4 p.m. this afternoon that the scheduled road closure by Yorkshire Water will now NOT go ahead tomorrow (December 11th) as was shown on the road closures sign (now disappeared).

Those dreaded road closure signs that cut the village in two, appeared, yet again, last week in the village, in their usual place at the junction of Main Street with Boroughbridge Road. Again, Yorkshire Water was giving notice that work would commence, this time, on Wednesday December 11th and it is this website's understanding that, once more, the job to be done pertains to the water supply for the newly built homes at the former Lamb and Flag.

The YW spokesperson said a few more permissions were still needed before the work could commence and there was, as yet, no date for this work to start. The website has been asked to be kept informed.

It would appear therefore that, for this week at least, the road will stay open.
