John Smith helped Bishop Monkton WI out of a crisis on Wednesday night after the planned speaker's car broke down. WI members had been due to hear a presentation from a group called 'Ladies in Pigs' about the health benefits of pork and other high welfare British food. However, with just two hours notice, the speaker couldn't make it but John stepped in to plug the gap and spoke about his adventures in marathon running in various different parts of the world. His talk was described as very entertaining and enjoyed by everyone who attended.
