Festive decorations, soon to be adorning many of the homes in the village, were beautifully crafted at a Christmas wreath making session held in the Village Hall recently.

Ladies from the village and a few guests spent an enjoyable couple of hours transforming a pile of foliage, sourced (sympathetically) from local gardens, hedgerows and the river bank, into attractive Christmas wreaths. Fruit, bought from local markets, had been dried and provided a focal point to the wreaths while cinammon sticks added a warm spicy aroma.

The session was led by villager, Cerys Gill, (shown kneeling in the centre of the picture) who shared her expertise from many years of creating flowers for special occasions, including weddings and birthdays. Starting with a demonstration, Cerys' skills and advice were much appreciated and subsequently applied as individual wreath making got underway. Cerys, who can be contacted on 07852 936609, is always happy to demonstrate for any village organisation or club.

This session has been running for several years, usually on the last Saturday of November or first Saturday of December, is always very popular and is simply a lovely way to get those Christmas festivities started.
