If any parishioner would like to put their name forward for consideration to become a councillor on Bishop Monkton Parish Council, then that time is now.

Dates have now passed for ten electors to request an election for the three current vacancies on the council. The last date for those requests to be received was Friday December 6th.

The Council, therefore, is now able to invite applications from anyone who feels he or she has something to offer the village and would be interested in joining the council as it moves forward. It would be delighted to hear from any parishioner. An application form, together with the legal declaration to confirm eligibility to become a councillor, are available on the parish council website. click

Applications forms are to be returned by email by Friday December 13th to [email protected] with co-option taking place at the Ordinary Meeting of the Parish Council on Tuesday 17th December 2024. These co-options will fill the seats left vacant by the resignations of Kai Shand, Sheila Parsons and Stephen Verrill.
