Site Guide

I hope you are enjoying ‘Bishop Monkton Today’. Here’s a quick guide to help with navigation around the site.

The homepage will be a headline link to articles on the site, whether it is important news stories, upcoming events or other things of interest. It will also include a ‘picture of the week',  perhaps a photograph of the village, somewhere in the immediate vicinity or maybe recording an event that has taken place.

The news pages will be updated on a regular basis – If you’re on a desktop or laptop you will see the most recent stories in the ‘stack’ on the right hand side of the homepage. You can also access previous news stories by clicking on ‘see all’ on the right hand side. On a mobile, you access news stories by clicking on the three line icon on the top left of the homepage and selecting ‘News’.

The events list is also accessible on the right hand side of a desktop homepage or via the top-left icon on a mobile. This lists events in chronological order with the events happening soonest at the top of the list.

The site also contains pages with information about village services and organisations. We have sections on the Parish Council, the Village Hall, the school, the churches and the pub as well as planning, information about village societies and sports clubs, the history of the village and links to information about local roadworks, weather alerts and bin collections.,

Finally, we have a Letter/Comments page as well as some information about the website team in About Us’.

Please explore the site to find out about all the many things going on within our wonderful community.
