New carpet, so no dirty shoes or boots please, but otherwise menu and chatter (or should that be meaningful and important discussion!) as usual for the Men's Breakfast on Saturday February 1st in the “looking very smart and almost revamped” Methodist Schoolroom, the first breakfast to be held in 2025.

The schoolroom will be the first part of the Methodist Chapel redevelopment plans to be completed and will, it is anticipated, be ready to fully use by the end of the first week in February after the new carpet has been laid and the painting finished. Senior Steward, Tim Abel, says that bookings to hire the new look room have already started to be made. Next week's Tuesday coffee morning (i.e. February 4th) will be held, not in the Chapel schoolroom as usual, but at the home of David Bray, to allow work to speedily progress.

Worship is currently taking place in the schoolroom as the second part of the redevelopment programme started in the new year on the Chapel itself. The roof solar panels are now in place, with just some wiring still to be finished. Doors will be repositioned and, as the picture shows, the floor has now been taken out. The replacement floor should be in place this week once the structural engineer has given the go-ahead . All fingers and toes are crossed for no unforeseen issues arising

Chapel members are very excited to be finalising and visualising the layout of their new kitchen. All their ideas, plans and hard work are finally becoming well and truly apparent.
