A week after the promise of a decision 'within days' on what they would do about controversial fences at the Lamb and Flag development, NYC are remaining tight-lipped about the saga. 'Bishop Monkton Today' has made repeated attempts to get an answer from the planners as to whether they will take enforcement action against the developers who have refused to remove the fences.

The original planning application suggested that a wall rather than fences would be built in front of the pub conversion although the developer claims that the walls were not a condition of planning permission. The Council's investigation into the issue started last Summer after complaints from several villagers.

As soon as we hear anything, we'll bring you the latest.
