This week's AGM will mark the end of an era for the Village Hall. The meeting will be the last as Chairman for Gerald Shervington and also the final one for Lesley Shervington as Bookings Secretary. The couple have been at the helm of the VH for around fifteen years.

It is expected that Phil Goodier, who was recently co-opted onto the Parish Council, will be chosen as the new Chair of the Village Hall Committee at the AGM. There will be a short handover period of a few months while Phil gets acquainted with the role.

Gerald will deliver his final annual report to the AGM which takes place on Wednesday evening at the VH starting at 7.30 p.m. The meeting is open to the public and it is hoped that as many people as possible will attend to thank Gerald and Lesley for their work.

The Village Hall has a healthy bank balance, which has recently been improved further with a two-month booking starting in March for the filming of a BBC children's drama. This week the Hall installed wifi - something which has been wanted for a number of years.

We will have a full report on the AGM on 'Bishop Monkton Today' on Thursday.
