Ripon Community Orchestra Summer Concert

Tuesday 30th June at 8pm

Ripon Community Orchestra, conducted by Xenophon Kelsey, is playing a selection of music including, the second and third movements from London Suite for Orchestra by Eric Coates, Peter Schmoll Overture by Weber, Notturno by Rimsky-Korsakov (arr. X Kelsey}, Moon River by Henry Mancini (arr. John Moss), Prokofiev Montagues and Capulets from "Romeo and Juliet" {arr. Peter Lawson}, Meugher by Peter Dodson, Palladio Concerto Grosso for string orchestra by Karl Jenkins and the first two of 3 Austrian Dances for Wind Ensemble, arranged by Max Schönherr.


Refreshments will be available to purchase. Entry free but donations welcome.

Ripon Community amateur orchestra are a friendly group with members of all ages. They welcome new members and rehearse most Tuesday Evenings at 7:30pm in Bishop Monkton Village Hall. All players whose instruments have been gathering dust for far too long, or who have perhaps recently moved to the area and have been looking for somewhere to play, will be most welcome. Everyone can come to a rehearsal on a Tuesday, free of charge, to try them out. They are directed by Xenophon Kelsey who has a wealth of experience as a conductor and instrumentalist. Players need to be capable of playing Grade 4 upwards.
