The recent installation of a Vehicle Activated Sign (VAS) near the Village Hall should visibly encourage drivers to watch their speed as they enter the village. By increasing driver awareness, these signs are designed to gently remind drivers that they are exceeding the speed limit and to slow down.

Studies have shown that these signs can reduce average speeds by several miles per hour and decrease accidents by up to 31%. Significant speed reductions of between 2.6 -7.1 mph are often seen on residential roads, while research also indicates the signs' positive effects can be long-lasting, with compliance often maintained a year after installation.
