Bishop Monkton's recently elected new MP, Conservative Sir Alec Shelbrooke, will be visiting the village again next Tuesday (5th November). Sir Alec, MP for the newly-created constituency of Wetherby and Easingwold, which includes the village, is plannig to attend the Tuesday morning Village Coffee at the Methodist Chapel at around 11 a.m. to talk to villagers.

Sir Alec was elected at the General Election on July 4th with a majority of 4,846.Previously, Bishop Monkton hd been part of the Skipton and Ripon constituency.
