The developers of the Lamb and Flag site have complained to the water industry regulator, OFWAT, about Yorkshire Water's failure to connect them to the water supply. Ashfield Homes say they have also contacted the CEO of Yorkshire Water who offered them an apology and a promise to get it sorted as quickly as possible. They have had no response yet from OFWAT.

Building on the development at the site of the former pub was completed in the Autumn. Yorkshire Water have been on site on at least two occasions to undertake work to provide a water supply to the five new houses. This involved closure of the road outside the site causing considerable disruption to villagers and the work failed to connect the supply on both occasions. 'Bishop Monkton Today' estimates that there have been at least three other occasions, including this week, when notice had been given that the work was to happen but Yorkshire Water failed to arrive on site.

We have approached Yorkshire Water for a comment but they haven't yet responded to us. No date has yet been posted for another attempt to complete the work.

Meanwhile, Ashfield Homes have confrmed that only one of the five homes on the site, the converted former holiday let, has been sold. The other four properties remain on the market with interest shown but no sales.
