The start of work on the Church Farm housing development near the Anglican Church in Bishop Monkton is moving a step closer.

Agents acting on behalf of the developer, Kebbell Homes, have written to North Yorkshire planners with evidence that they have fulfilled all the conditions required as part of the planning permission granted for the site last year. These include details of access routes to the site during the construction work, biodiveristy and tree planting plans and a variety of other matters. Council planners now have to decide whether all the conditions have been met.

The scheme, which had originally been refused planning permission by planners, was given the go-ahead on appeal last year. It involves the building of 23 homes on land between Knaresborough Road opposite the Church and the Church Farm Caravan Park. There had been objections from many residents to the scheme, mainly concerning the impact on road safety and on the sewerage infrastructure.

The new documents about the discharge of planning conditions are available to view on the NYC Planning Portal click

There is no information yet on a precise starting date for the construction work.
