The family of Chris Farrington, a much-loved member of the Bishop Monkton community who died at his home in the village last week, have announced details of his funeral.

It will take place on Monday 10th February at 10a.m. at

Hambleton Crematorium
Maple Park
Skipton Bridge
Thirsk
YO7 4SA

The Masons will open specially on that day from 6pm for a celebration of Chris's life.

Meanwhile, more tributes have been paid to Chris who was originally from Wakefield. Chris had lived in the village for around ten years after running a successful business in the print trade.

Close friends Sammy and Billy Miller said:- "Chris, words cannot describe the impact you have had on so many people's lives in this village. Thank you for making us all part of your journey, for all the laughs, the endless hours of wisdom, and most importantly, thank you for just being you. RIP Mate... Sammy & Billy"

Gerald Shervington said:- "Chris was a lovely man, he didn't have one bad word to say about anyone, if he did he kept it to himself. Chris was very well travelled and if you were ever going anywhere you could nearly almost get the 'inside' story of where to go and what to do. Up to recently him and Billy Miller would go and see various bands anywhere between Leeds and Newcastle, he enjoyed his music, food and drink."

Sue Brightman said:- "I am so saddened to hear this news. Chris was such a lovely chap, funny, kind and just a wonderful person. He will be much missed. My heartfelt condolences to his family."

There is a Book of Remembrance open at the Masons for people's memories of Chris.
