As expected, North Yorkshire councillors have approved a recommendation that the speed limit on the A61 from Ripon to Ripley be reduced from 60mph to 50mph following multiple fatalities on the road in recent years. The section through Wormald Green will remain as it as at 40 mph. The new restrictions are expected to come into force early next year.
